What Can We Do To Optimise Your Shop PDF Print

This page concerns the optimisation of your Virtuemart or Freeway Ecommerce shop. This is important because it means your shop will work faster and better. It will reach more customers and they are more likely to buy from you.

1. We will Optimize your Images using Photoshop

We will compress your images in quality and color depth so that they download faster. A faster loading image means a happier customer who will  spend more time looking at your products and not just waiting for the page to load. Happier customers mean more sales and higher conversion rates.

2. Change your page titles

We will modify your site and page titles using tools that allow you to have customised page titles for every page and every product, improving the SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) aspect of your site.

3. Smooth out the Checkout Process

Fewer page checkouts improve conversion rates, ie conversion from visitors to purchasers. The ideal is a two page checkout.

4. Find your Unique Selling Proposition.

This is what makes your website special for the customer. It i the reason that customers buy from you rather than the big stores. It is probably the single most important thing for your sales.

You may want to host a website that sells digital cameras, but you must understand that there are thousands of companies selling digital cameras. What is going to set your site apart form all the others? Is it low cost shipping deals, low prices or something else? Whatever it is, you need to do your market research, find out what your Unique Selling Proposition is going to be and implement it successfully to make money.

5. Add an SSL certificate.

Whether your customers pay using Paypal, Google or credit cards your site will be collecting personally-identifiable information in the form of shipping addresses, phone numbers and customer names. It is essential for your shop to have a SSL certificate. This is mandatory. We can ensure that you obtain a 128 bit security certificate

6. Add Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy Pages.

These are mandatory when it comes to being able to accept certain credit card payments. These are also the pages that people are going to read when deciding whether they want to give you their email address or their credit card number. Statistics show that while more and more people are buying online, an increasing number of them are even more wary about privacy policies and the contract they are entering into.

7. Enhance Product Descriptions.

Tell your customers all about your products. Tell them what they are made of, how they attach, what colours they are painted, who is likely to use them, what they do, how they do it and why the customer should buy them. In a real-world shop your customer can handle the product and read the box. The website needs to emulate this with a comprehensive product description.

8. Rich-Media files.

Remove all rich-media files from your main shopping page, it has no place on a productive web shop. Adding a flash intro only adds another layer between your customer and the product information page. Flash headers slow down your site so keep them simple. A flash movie when used as a descriptive tool in the right location can be acceptable. Don't make them big and intrusive.

9. SEF/SEO tools.

SEO/SEF tools optimise your product pages giving each a unique and human-friendly title. They will also generate meta descriptions of each page based upon the page content. These will help your products to be found by search engines, especially Google.

Don't underestimate the importance of all these items they are critical to the functioning of your shop.
